Resumen

The objective of this study was to analyze the perception of graduate students in the area of health sciences regarding the soft skills necessary for their hiring and professional development in Peru, 2022. Non-experimental, quantitative, descriptive and analytical research. Non-probability convenience sampling of 412 graduate students in universities located in Lima and El Callao, Peru, during the months of September to December 2022. The exploratory factor analysis identified three underlying factors in the perception of soft skills necessary for their hiring and professional development: personal, associated with "communication skills"; social, associated with "leadership skills"; and methodology, associated with "management and organizational skills". The findings of this study suggest that graduate students in the area of health sciences in Lima and Callao, Peru, consider soft skills as important for their professional development and training. The three factors identified in the exploratory factor analysis may be useful for designing training programs to improve students' soft skills in these areas.
