Resumen
This study analyzes how sociodemographic factors influence the frequency and type of use of different payment methods among consumers in Metropolitan Lima. The research, which is quantitative, observational, and cross-sectional in nature, was applied to a sample of 316 people. The results reveal that centennials are more inclined to use digital payments, while Generation X maintains a preference for traditional methods such as cash and cards. Age was found to have a significant impact on all methods evaluated, and income was found to influence the use of bank cards in particular. These findings reflect the importance of understanding generational differences in financial habits and the need for strategies aimed at digital and financial inclusion. Consequently, it is concluded that sociodemographic profiles (age, education, income) do influence the preference and frequency of use of various payment methods.
