Samá Y.H.; Villa C.R.; Abalo O.D.C.R. · Revista del Hospital Psiquiatrico de la Habana (2024)

Resumen

Introduction: Pregnant adolescents with difficulties for prenatal bonding between mother and child may have various clinical and psychological characteristics that affect both their physical and mental health and that of the fetus. Objective: Describe socio-health care in pregnant adolescents for prenatal bonding between mother and child. Method: A cross- sectional descriptive study was carried out on pregnant adolescents treated at Oscar Primelles Cisneros Polyclinic from January, 2018 to July, 2023. The universe was made up of 64 patients, and the intentional sampling consisted of 40 patients.Their ages ranged from 13 to 18 years. The variables of this study included types of gestational comunicación, bonding and prenatal adaptation, as well as the psychosocial factors for the maternal- fetal bonding. Results: There was a predominance of non-assertive gestational communication (65%), whereas acceptance of pregnancy and adaptation to motherhood reached the greatest values in the high indicator of the scale, both with 20%. The affective approach with the fetus through differentiation was 17, 5%, in the very low indicador of the scale.Social support (52, 5%) and empathy (35%) were the main psychosocial factors for the maternal- fetal bonding. Conclusions: By describing and analyzing care practices in this context, a door is opened to improve policies and intervention programs. This favors adequate support with benefits for both mother and child, from the beginning of this new stage of life. © (2024), (Ministerio de Salud Publica).
