Resumen
This study explores how social networks are transforming the acquisition, distribution, and consumption of data in a digitally networked society, which despite its importance, has research gaps. Therefore, the objective is to examine research trends in the impact of social networks on information management. A bibliometric approach is proposed, following the PRISMA 2020 guidelines, in order to guarantee quality and transparency. An exponential growth of scientific articles is observed, especially in 2021 and 2022, highlighting the relevance of the topic. Weeks BE and Kim DH influence the study. The thematic evolution changes from wikis to current topics such as Covid-19 and disinformation. Keywords such as Social Capital and Covid-19 consolidate, while Data Mining and Opinion gain prominence. The keyword classification reflects a research agenda focused on deepening concepts for future studies in this ever-evolving field.
