Resumen

Cervical cancer includes varied histological types, with squamous cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma accounting for 70%and 25%, respectively. Cervical neuroendocrine tumours are sporadic and infrequent, and account for 2% of all invasive cervical malignancies in women with an average age of 45 years. It should be noted that small cell neuroendocrine carcinoma is a variant of extrapulmonary lung cancer, and the causative agent is high-risk strains of HPV. We present the case of a 59-year-old woman diagnosed with small cell neuroendocrine carcinoma of the cervix that was comprehensively treated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy and radical hysterectomy type C1. Pathological studies revealed endocervical adenocarcinoma in situ positive for p16 and Ki67 in 90%. Following treatment, the patient shows no signs of recurrence to date. © (2025), (Anales de la Facultad de Medicina). All rights reserved.
