Resumen
An active array is a flexible beamforming technique, which permits to shape the antenna’s radiation pattern: steer the main lobe, reduce the sidelobe levels, or generate multiple beams. This paper analyses the effects of power distribution windows on an 8-element active antenna array. The array setting and component block diagram presented objective is to scan the equatorial electrojet from Lima, Peru. Kaiser window is a good candidate since it provides a substantial sidelobe level reduction and maintains a good directivity. Even though, in this scenario, a 0.7 wavelength distance separates the antenna elements, a smaller distance could prevent grating lobes.
