Resumen

The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficiency of a simplified FSH administration protocol on ovarian response and quality of embryos collected via transcervical in Anglo-Nubian goats. Twelve adult goats were randomly assigned to two groups for the induction of superovulation: i) eCG (n=6), eCG administered intramuscularly (1000 IU), and ii) FSH (n=6): FSH administered once daily for three days intramuscularly (37.5, 37.5, and 25 µg on days 1, 2, and 3, respectively). Embryos were evaluated and classified according to the International Embryo Technology Society (IETS) specifications. Data analysis was performed using the Student’s t-test. The number of corpora lutea was similar between groups (eCG: 11.3±1.8 and FSH: 14.3±3.7; p>0.05); however, the number of embryos produced, and transferable embryos was higher (p<0.05) in the FSH group (8.0±2.8 and 6.7±2.4) than in the eCG group (3.0±1.1 and 1.5±0.5, respectively). It is concluded that the simplified FSH protocol was effective in inducing ovarian response and the production of transferable embryos in Anglo-Nubian goats. © Los autores.
