Resumen

This work studied the effect of Ag-dopant on the luminescence properties of an amorphous magnesium borate matrix. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) images showed that the Ag-ion was homogeneously incorporated into the material matrix. The continuous-wave optically stimulated luminescence (CW-OSL) and linear-modulation optically stimulated luminescence (LM-OSL) results were analyzed by deconvolution. When comparing the CW-OSL deconvolution, it was observed that both samples had two components and that the presence of Ag modified the characteristics of the second component. In the LM-OSL deconvolution, three components were observed for the pure and Ag-doped samples with a predominance of second-order kinetics. The Ag-doped sample exhibited an OSL spectrum with an emission band centered at 330 nm under green light excitation and another at 580 nm under infrared excitation. Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) investigations were carried out to study the radiation-induced defect centers and their correlation with the luminescence response.
