Resumen
Large-celled sigmoid colon neuroendocrine tumours are rare neoplasms. Most cases have metastases at the time of diagnosis, which makes management difficult. In addition, they have an unfavourable prognosis due to the low degree of differentiation and a high Ki-67. We present the case of a 63-year-old woman who presents with intestinal subocclusion due to a tumour lodged in the sigmoid colon that, by mechanical action, causes sigmoidorectal intussusception that subsequently prolapses and presents pulmonary metastasis. She is surgically operated on for a radical sigmoidectomy plus end colostomy, and the pathology reveals a poorly differentiated large cell neuroendocrine tumour of the sigmoid. Unfortunately, the patient died 3 months after the diagnosis was confirmed due to the progression of the disease. © (2026), (Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, Facultad de Medicina).
