Resumen
We present the case of a 25-day-old neonate diagnosed with Scimitar Syndrome. The patient initially presented with transient respiratory distress requiring oxygen support at birth, which was discontinued after the symptoms resolved on the first day of life. Initial diagnostic studies, including chest X-ray and echocardiography, provided the first indications of the pathology; therefore, the patient was evaluated by a multidisciplinary team, and the definitive diagnosis was established by computed tomography, which revealed the presence of the vein in the typical scimitar shape. The patient received medical treatment and was discharged in stable condition to continue outpatient follow-up. This report emphasizes the importance of the timely identification of the clinical and imaging signs of Scimitar Syndrome in order to improve therapeutic options that promote survival and reduce mortality.
