Resumen
The aim is to analyze the scientific production in library and information science in Peru indexed in Scopus during the period 2000-2024. A bibliometric analysis was conducted of output in library and information science recorded in Scopus over the same period. Following the application of inclusion criteria, 771 documents were retrieved and analyzed with VOSviewer to construct keyword co-occurrence maps. The results showed that Peruvian scientific production in library and information science was scarce during the first decade of the 21st century and registered pronounced growth from 2019 onwards. The co-occurrence analysis identified 9 clusters, in which terms associated with information technologies and health sciences predominated, while “bibliometric analysis” was the most frequent term. Among topics intrinsic to library and information science, information literacy and information retrieval stood out as the most studied. It is concluded that scientific production in library and information science shows a growing trend, with an emphasis on the application of bibliometric analyses across various disciplines, particularly in health sciences. It is suggested that future research explore the causes of this trend and to further investigate topics inherent to library and information science.
