Scientific knowledge of the relationship between environmental management and public health. A bibliometric review

Wiliam F.V.; Arquímedes F.V.J.; Dayron L.D. · Clio. Revista de Historia, Ciencias Humanas y Pensamiento Critico. (2026) · DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.17447034

Resumen

This study analyzed scientific output on the relationship between environmental management and public health using a bibliometric analysis in Scopus. The results showed exponential growth in publications since 1965, with a predominance of articles in specialized journals. China, the United States, and the United Kingdom were identified as leading countries, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese funding agencies as key players. The disciplines with the highest output were environmental sciences, medicine, and engineering, addressing topics such as pollution and occupational health. Mapping the literature using bibliometric software allowed for the analysis of collaboration networks, temporal evolution, and conceptual structures. It was concluded that the integration of environmental management and public health is a growing trend, and therefore more research is needed to inform effective policies in this area. This study is an approach to the field, and complementary analyses with other sources of information are required.
