Resumen
School coexistence can be considered an inclusive, egalitarian educational approach, designed to promote positive values such as equality, equity and social justice, which starts from the individual and materializes in the educational environment, in interaction with good practices and specific policies that make the encounter between the different actors of education viable. In this order of ideas, the purpose of this article is to analyze school coexistence and violence in the Peruvian context, considering the existing challenges for an inclusive educational environment. Among the main findings, the presence of the anomaly of violence in its different manifestations throughout Latin America and the Caribbean is highlighted, with diverse mechanisms to address this social problem. In the Peruvian case, emphasis is placed on the interrelationship between violence and academic performance, the connection of external violence with school spaces, as well as the regulations employed by the nation to promote peaceful coexistence among students and other educational actors. This is qualitative research; whose method of approach is that of documentary exploration. It is concluded that it is urgent to promote school coexistence, early attention to violence, giving rise to continuing education and ongoing training for students, teachers, parents and the community in general.
