Resumen
Introduction: Aggressive behaviors constitute a frequent problem that threatens education in Peru and worldwide. Although there are currently instruments that assess aggressive behavior, some of these lack sufficient evidence of validity and reliability to avoid measurement bias in child populations. Objective: Develop a scale for the assessment of aggressive behavior for children in Rioja. Methods: Applied research with a quantitative approach and an instrumental nonexperimental design was carried out, with the participation of 535 elementary school students from different educational institutions in Rioja, selected from a cluster sampling. Descriptive and inferential techniques were applied to analyze the data using JASP 0.19.3 software. Results: The items in the final scale had adequate normality parameters (±1.5), as well as solid evidence of content validity (V = 1.00; 95 % CI = .73-1.00). Through exploratory factor analysis, a two-factor structure was identified (total explained variance 45.2 %). This correlated factor model, as well as the hierarchical model had optimal adjustment measures (CFI > .95; TLI > .95; RMSEA < .05; SRMR < .06). On the other hand, reliability was adequate (>.65). Conclusions: The scale of aggressive behaviors for children showed evidence of adequate validity and reliability that makes its application possible. © Este material es publicado según los términos de la Licencia Creative Commons Atribución–NoComercial 4.0.
