Resumen
This research studied the role of personality in anxiety of 300 undergraduate university students at Arequipa-Perú. The participants fulfilled the Big Five Personality Questionnaire and the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory. Results showed that having little extraversion, agreeableness or neuroticism is a risk for higher levels of state-trait anxiety. These results suggest the importance of the development of a healthy personality in university students to prevent mental health disorders, among them, anxiety.
