Review of Methods for Monitoring Elements Using Satellite Imagery

Alex D.A.C.; Antonio L.O.D. · 2023 17th International Conference on Engineering of Modern Electric Systems, EMES 2023 (2023) · DOI: 10.1109/emes58375.2023.10171696

Resumen

The study covers the importance of constant mon-itoring of environmental events such as thawing in lakes and mountain ranges because they have a direct impact on everyday life. To do this, there is a variety of techniques and technologies available, including remote sensing technologies such as satellite technology that can cover large areas quickly. Satellite images are of particular interest as they can contain more information than standard color images, but it is necessary to perform operations on the different bands that make up the image to extract useful information. Fortunately, there is a wide range of satellite image sources available, but it is important to consider spectral and spatial resolution as these can differ between sources.
