Resumen
The bibliography on mining in Peru has grown rapidly in the last 25 years since the mining boom began. Its thematic emphasis has shifted from a focus on the history of mining to more current concerns such as public policy, the environmental impacts of the sector, mining and informality, and the conflicts that have emerged between mining companies and the communities that surround extractive activities. Some areas, like mining and labor relations, have almost disappeared, reflecting to some extent the structural shifts in the industry. This chapter revises a bibliography of well over a thousand items of scholarship produced since the 1970s. It seeks to highlight areas which the authors consider merit more attention.
