Resumen
The aim of this study was to determine the reproductive parameters of Creole cattle from three locations (Oxapampa, Huancabamba, Chontabamba) and two management systems (semi-intensive, extensive) in the Oxapampa Valley, Pasco, Peru. A total of 325 cows from 18 agricultural units were evaluated. The origin factor, the management system and their interactions were evaluated. The Tukey test (p=0.05) was used to determine significant differences. The Oxapampa cows have an Age at First Service (AFS) of 675.0 ± 14.9 days and an Age at First Calving (AFC) of 947.3 ± 25.0 days, significantly lower than those from Chontabamba and Huancabamba. Semi-intensive systems achieve earlier AFS (644.4 ± 13.8 days) and lower AFC (911.7 ± 25.3 days) compared to extensive systems (682.7 ± 15.2 and 984 days, respectively). In addition, the Calving-Conception Interval is shorter in Oxapampa (88.1 ± 2.9 days). The Interval between Calvings in Oxapampa is 392.8 ± 8.0 days, being even shorter in the semi-intensive system (378.8 ± 5.9 days) than in the extensive system (419.2 ± 4.1 days). The number of Services per Conception was similar in the three places, being better in the semi-intesive system (1.57 ± 0.04) and with a higher natality rate (96.4 ± 0.6%) compared to the extensive system (419.2 ± 4.1 and 95.1 ± 0.5, respectively). © Los autores.
