López-Paraguay M.; Montalvo F.; Yactayo M.; Quispe-Marcatoma J.; Landauro C.V.; Rodríguez V.A.P. · Proceedings - 2025 IEEE Latin American Conference on Nanotechnology, LANANO 2025 (2025) · DOI: 10.1109/lanano68466.2025.11512386

Resumen

In this paper, we demonstrate the efficiency of using iron oxide nanoparticles to remove As+3 from water, achieving removal rates of over 90%. It has also been shown that iron oxides nanoparticles can even be formed from a mixture of phases such as magnetite, maghemite, and goethite, while maintaining its removal efficiency. The nanoparticles were prepared via chemical co-precipitation technique. Their structure and morphology were characterized mainly by the X-ray diffraction and the Mössbauer spectroscopy. Removal efficiency was monitored using X-ray fluorescence analysis.
