Resumen
Background: Pressure on students leads to situations and symptoms of academic stress, leading to unhealthy patterns of eating habits, whose behaviors affect academic performance and general well-being. The objective was to determine the relationship between situations and symptoms of academic stress with eating habits in students of a private university in Huancayo - 2024. Methods: A non-experimental design, quantitative approach, correlational and cross-sectional type, was used, with a sample of 240 students selected through stratified probability sampling. Results: 95.8% of students perceived academic stress and 83.3% reported unhealthy eating habits. The most frequent stress situations included task overload (37.8%) and evaluation forms (28.7%). Regarding symptoms, anxiety (30.4%) and feelings of sadness (28.7%) stood out as predominant. Conclusions: A statistically significant association was found between academic stress and eating habits. Students with moderate levels of stressful situations had a higher prevalence of unhealthy habits (42.6%), while those who reported low levels of stress showed better eating habits.
