Resumen
The aim of the study was to analyze the relationship between the mental actions of covariational reasoning and the use schemes that a group of students mobilize when they solve an optimization task with GeoGebra. Theoretical aspects of covariational reasoning and the instrumental approach are considered, and the case study as a research method. The construction of a rectangular garden with GeoGebra highlights the covariational reasoning of the students, when they associate or do not associate tools such as sliders and points to vary their dimensions dynamically. Addressing change situations using GeoGebra favors students' covariational reasoning.
