Resumen
The objective of this article is to present the theoretical fundamentals of triangulation methods as validation tools for qualitative research through epistemic convergence during the social event. The different types of triangulation are described according to the criteria of Denzin (1970), Hernandez, Fernandez and Batista (2017), Alzas and Casas (2017), Benavides and Gomez (2019) & Forni and De Grande (2020). The critical assessment of the documentary analysis was used as a methodology to confront the different positions. The studied method tries, from the perspective of different differentiated strategies, to counteract the subjectivity, biases and deviations that qualitative research could incur, emerging as an alternative of convergence to validate data, phenomena, theories and methodologies. This tool allows us to approach the social reality of the fact under investigation, although it sometimes turns it into a mixed-type investigation, but which, in turn, serves as a multi-method complementarity, which generates precision and reliability.
