Resumen
Sustainable Competitive Advantage (SCA) is recognized as a strategic asset that allows organizations to differentiate themselves in the market and ensure their long-term survival; however, in the context of MSMEs, it is essential to have valid and reliable instruments to measure this construct. The objective of this research was to psychometrically validate the Sustainable Competitive Advantage Scale (EVCS) in MSMEs, evaluating its internal consistency and content, convergent, and discriminant validity. A basic study was developed, with a quantitative approach, non-experimental and cross-sectional design, applied to a sample of companies from different sectors and regions of Mexico. Confirmatory factor analysis, complemented by descriptive statistics and reliability indices, showed that the scale has high internal consistency (CR=0.97), confirming the strong correlation between the items that make up each factor. Likewise, convergent validity was supported by average extracted variance (AVE) values above 0.70, well above the threshold of 0.50, while content validity reached an Aiken V coefficient of 0.97, reflecting high agreement among expert judges. The results confirm that the theoretical structure of the model is solid and methodologically sound, allowing us to conclude that the EVCS is a reliable and relevant tool for measuring SCS in MSMEs, adding value to both academic research and business practice by facilitating strategic decisions focused on innovation, sustainability, and organizational competitiveness.
