Proposal to improve logistics management through the application of Kardex, ABC and 5S tools, to reduce costs in commercial companies in the hardware sector, Trujillo 2023

Resumen

The purpose of the research is to determine the impact of the proposal to improve logistics management through the application of Kardex, ABC and 5S tools, on costs in commercial companies in the hardware sector. The existing problems in the warehouse area due to inadequate distribution of products, which generates delays in customer service and inefficiency in the logistics process, reflected in the increase in costs, due to having high stocks of products that are not frequently demanded. For this reason, the logistics tools already indicated are proposed, in order to obtain better results. Observation and documentary review techniques were used, where in the initial diagnosis it was found that there are losses of S/ 323.08 due to lack of Kardex and ABC, in addition, an average of losses of S/ 442.45 due to lack of order and poor handling and S/ 538.45 of losses are caused by the lack of inventory classification. Finally, the economic evaluation of the project was carried out, obtaining a positive NPV and an IRR of 49% and its initial investment will be recovered within a period of 2 months, thus supporting its economic viability. © CISCI - Simposium Iberoamericano en Educacion, Cibernetica e Informatica 2024.
