Esquivel-Grados J.T.; Zavaleta Quipuzcoa S.A.; Martínez-Zocón R.N. · Encuentros (Maracaibo) (2025) · DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.15426359

Resumen

Mathematics plays a decisive role in improving students’ critical abilities, becoming an ideal field to broaden students’ cognitive skills and abilities, to enhance mathematical logical thinking, and their ability to solve, think and think rationally. By virtue of the above, the article analyzes the incidence of didactic strategies in mathematics and their impact on the development of students’ critical thinking. Among the main results, it is observed that, well focused and centered on individual needs, didactic strategies in mathematics significantly improve logical-mathematical thinking, influencing the formation of critical thinking and cognitive autonomy. For this reason, the use of alternative didactic approaches, such as quaternary ideograms, which lead to a deep understanding of mathematical concepts, interconnecting with previous knowledge, is privileged. This is qualitative research, of documentary exploration, whose purpose is to promote a different approach in the ways of teaching mathematics. Finally, it highlights the need for innovative practices, as a contribution to improve the reception of mathematics, thus strengthening the development of critical thinking at the student level.
