Resumen
Currently, the education system continues to adopt a traditional teaching approach, which has proven to be ineffective in providing a quality learning process to students, given the persistent poor academic performance observed year after year. Likewise, the disconnect between current educational methodology and changing student expectations has led to a decline in interest in learning subjects. The objective of this research is to present the results, a review of the literature and the development of a proposal for an educational mobile application. The methodology used was the review of the literature and the construction of the mobile application design using the Octalysis framework. As results, key elements were identified such as frameworks, Octalysis being the most used, Android was identified as operating systems, and C# was identified as programming languages. In the gamification elements, scores, challenges, rankings, rewards and levels are proposed as essential components to improve student motivation. In addition, for the mobile application design proposal the Octalysis framework will be used and a Three-Tier model is considered in the architecture.
