Resumen

The civil construction sector constantly faces challenges in optimizing its processes, particularly in the efficient and safe handling of materials. The wheelbarrow, as a fundamental tool in works of various magnitudes, plays a crucial role in material logistics. However, conventional models present limitations in maneuverability, stability, and safety, particularly regarding hopper hitching. This article introduces a proof of concept for an optimized wheelbarrow designed to address these deficiencies. The proposed design incorporates a hitch warning system based on sensors and visual or auditory alerts to prevent accidents caused by improper hopper engagement. The development process was guided by the VDI 2221 methodology and implemented using Autodesk Inventor and Proteus software. The resulting prototype showcases structural enhancements in the base frame, wheel system, and hopper geometry, thereby improving stability, maneuverability, and excavation efficiency. Comparative analysis with existing designs highlights the novelty and potential of the proposed solution. This work contributes to the advancement of ergonomic and safety-oriented equipment in civil works, laying the groundwork for future experimental validation and potential industrial applications.
