Resumen
Introduction: School conflicts during adolescence affect students’ coexistence and socioemotional well-being, underscoring the importance of implementing preventive interventions to promote constructive coping styles. Objective: To assess the changes observed following the psychological program intervention “Armonía en movimiento” in conflict management among secondary school students. Methods: This was an explanatory-level study with a pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design. A total of 32 adolescent students were selected through convenience sampling. The Conflict Management Scale, based on five styles (avoidance, accommodation, compromise, competition, and collaboration), was administered. The program consisted of 14 45-minute sessions over six weeks, including socioemotional and experiential activities. Results: Overall conflict management improved by 2.53 points (95% CI: 0.46 to 4.60; d = 0.44). Increases were observed in accommodation (Δ = 0.91; 95% CI: 0.39 to 1.43; r = 0.720), compromise (Δ = 0.59; 95% CI: 0.03 to 1.16; r = 0.532), and collaboration (Δ = 0.91; 95% CI: 0.37 to 1.44; r = 0.784). Changes in evasion (Δ = −0.22; 95% CI: −0.88 to 0.44; d = 0.12) and competition (Δ =-0.34; 95% CI: −0.47 to 1.16; d = 0.38) showed uncertainty. Conclusions: The program was associated with a moderate improvement in conflict management and an increase in cooperative coping styles, particularly those related to collaboration, compromise, and accommodation among secondary school students.
