Resumen
The objective of this study was to develop ecological mortars incorporating construction and demolition waste (CDW) and crushed plastic as substitutes for traditional materials, evaluating their technical and economic viability. Various tests were carried out to characterize the waste, including granulometry, unit weight, moisture content and specific gravity, obtaining results within the parameters established for the mixture of mortars. Then, a total of 24 mortars were prepared, of which 6 standard mortars and 6 for each of the replacement of 5%, 10% and 15% of waste by crushed plastic. Then the manufacturing process of the mortars began, and they were left in formwork for 24 hours, then they were stripped and the curing process began in a period of 3 and 7 days respectively, then the resistance tests were carried out. And finally, it was determined that the mortars cured in 7 days obtained a higher resistance test compared to those cured in three days. The mortars with 10% plastic showed a noticeable superior resistance, standing out as a viable alternative. This viable alternative seeks to reduce and eliminate contaminants, such as plastic being one of the main ones, thus making this implementation a possible solution to this problem.
