Problem-Based Learning during the COVID 19 pandemic 'Someone call a doctor, please!'

Guillen M. · Proceedings - JICV 2022: 12th International Conference on Virtual Campus (2022) · DOI: 10.1109/jicv56113.2022.9934632

Resumen

The Covid-19 Pandemic brought with it many pedagogical changes, in which the use of virtual educational platforms was the widespread medium, but perhaps not the optimal one for medical education. In this sense, the objective of our experience using the problem-based learning strategy through Google Meet was to achieve the necessary motivation in all students to obtain meaningful learning that develops judgment and critical thinking. Medical students of the III Semester of group 2 and 5 of the Human Physiology course of the National University of San Agustín, Arequipa were selected. Performance is evaluated using both individual and group rubrics. The intellectual product presented, as well as its oral presentation, were of high academic quality. This determines that virtual PBL is an alternative way to train doctors with knowledge and attitude, so the general application of this model is recommended.
