Resumen
Background and objective: Stuttering, a disorder of speech fluency characterized by repetition of sounds, pauses or blocks that affect verbal expression, requires evaluation and intervention. The aim of the study was to construct a scale for the measurement of stuttering and to evaluate its content validity. Materials and methods: This was a quantitative instrumental study. The procedure followed the first four steps proposed by Muñiz and Fonseca-Pedrero for the construction of a test. The instrument is characterized by being made up of 45 items distributed in 9 dimensions, based on a review of theoretical sources and other instruments. The validation process was carried out through the judgment of 8 experts and its scores were evaluated by means of Aiken's V coefficient and confidence intervals. Results: High scores were found in the criteria evaluated: relevance (V=.92-1.00, IC=.74-1.00), representativeness (V=.92-1.00, IC=.74-1.00) and clarity (V=.92-1.00, IC=.74-1.00). Conclusions: It is concluded that the scale contains items that are representative, clear and relevant for its use.
