Resumen
This study characterizes the polymetallic geochemical zoning of the AC Vein through statistical, geostatistical, and ordinary kriging interpolation analyses of 100 samples collected from underground tunnels of two mines located in the Fondas Mining District (Cauca, Colombia). Results reveal significant variability in Au, Cu, Pb, Zn, Bi, As, and Sb, while Ag and Fe show lower dispersion. Principal Component Analysis (PCA), combined with geostatistics and ordinary kriging interpolation, allowed the definition of three multielement associations: (1) Cu–Pb–Zn–(Au), concentrated in deeper zones; (2) Ag–Bi–Au, dominant at intermediate levels; and (3) As–(Au), prevailing in shallower sectors. These findings provide a methodological framework for the characterization of intrusive-related veins and constitute a basis for future research aimed at improving the understanding of the metallogenetic evolution of the district. © The author; licensee Universidad Nacional de Colombia.
