Policies for the health of Cuban women

Resumen

The activities to be developed in the Program for the Advancement of Women and the Observatory on Gender Equality in Cuba include those related to the protection of their health. It is considered necessary to introduce some comments on the public policies and health policies that support these activities. The objective of a general policy favorable to health is to create conditions that guarantee good health for the entire population, with the purpose of people having more control over their own health and being able to improve it. These policies will not be efficient or effective if they do not integrate economic, social and environmental aspects, are executed with rigorous control and permanent dissemination, not only for the benefit of those who execute them, but also for the population to whom they are directed, in this case Cuban women.
