Resumen
Plato's work is more than philosophical - it is educational. The disappointments of political affairs led him to recognize a much better way: the way of education, through which he could influence the polis. This article aims to show Plato's educational contributions from the central axis of the Academy, which is the dialogue; contributions that can be fruitful for the mission of the university and teaching today. To this end, insights will be drawn based on Meno, Phædrus, Parmenides, Politicus and Letter VII. The importance of the dialogue at the Academy and its main elements will be made evident. Finally, the contributions which deserve particular attention for the mission of the university and higher education will be offered as conclusions: 1) the importance of an education through coming together in order to achieve the freedom of the disciple, 2) the need for a hypothesis of meaning and 3) the proposal of a method aimed at knowledge. © PENSAMIENTO.
