Resumen
This research presents a comprehensive modelling and analysis of the key components and control strategies within a photovoltaic system. The study begins with the mathematical modelling of solar cells and panels, characterizing their nonlinear behavior to evaluate energy conversion efficiency. Subsequently, DC-DC boost converters are analyzed, focusing on the implementation of Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) algorithms, specifically the Perturb and Observe method, combined with PI controllers to maximize power extraction. A three-level Neutral Point Clamped (NPC) inverter is then modelled and controlled using Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation (SVPWM), ensuring efficient voltage regulation. To mitigate total harmonic distortion, an LCL filter is designed to deliver high-quality sinusoidal signals suitable for grid integration The system is simulated under dynamic irradiance and temperature conditions, demonstrating robust performance, efficient power delivery, and adaptability to real-world scenarios. This work highlights the importance of integrated control strategies and system design to improve efficiency between 98 % and 98.7 % of the inverter with its control system, as well as the reliability of photovoltaic systems for sustainable energy applications.
