Resumen
The bandgap light absorption of semiconductors in water allows to promote chemical reactions of oxidation and reduction. Several strategies to obtain these materials, through soft chemistry processes, will be discussed to understand the key factors to promote structural and morphology control, as well as to were compared to address the drawbacks such as low absorption of the solar spectra, low active surface area, charge carrier’s recombination. Several ZnO and TiO2 supported materials with different morphologies and modified with reduced graphene oxide will be part of this comparison. Obtained materials will be deposited onto a rigid substrate using soft chemistry routes as the spray pyrolysis, spin coating, and electrospinning; the different crystalline structures and morphologies: nanoparticles, nanorods, nanofibers within others were optimized in their photoactivity to promote photoelectrochemical water purification.
