Resumen
Currently, the diagnosis of mental disorders is mainly based on procedures that identify symptoms compatible with the diagnostic criteria of disease classification manuals. This paper presents the descriptive-interpretative analysis of the responses of 12 participants diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, who were administered the Rorschach Test through the comprehensive system (CS). The patients’ responses were evaluated with the aim of exploring the subjectivity by analysing the structural and qualitative summary of contents and special codes. The results show that the central problem associated with this disorder is related to difficulties in the construction of identity. Furthermore, the need to re-evaluate psychotherapies that deeply address intra-subjective aspects, unconscious conflicts and interpersonal relationships is discussed.
