Resumen
There are different types of businesses. Peru is a country of micro and small enterprises (MSEs) that are essential for employment, although their contribution to gross domestic product and exports is limited for various reasons. This research uses both quantitative and qualitative methods to study the lack of integration of MSEs into the global economy and its consequences. Several factors explain this lack of integration into globalization; likewise, risk aversion and a focus on subsistence limit their innovation and expansion. It is concluded that there are both structural and cultural factors that negatively affect their competitiveness. © (2025), (El Colegio Mexiquense AC), All Rights Reserved.
