Resumen
The analysis of teachers’ linguistic attitudes is fundamental, since they have a determining influence on the perception that students have of the varieties of Spanish, particularly Andean Spanish. Therefore, in this research, the objective is to evaluate the linguistic attitudes of high school teachers towards Peruvian Andean Spanish, paying particular attention to the cognitive, affective and behavioral components, and their relationship with sociolinguistic variables. Methodologically, this study is descriptive-correlational; the approach is mixed; and the design is non-experimental, cross-sectional. The population consisted of teachers in Metropolitan Lima. The sample was non-probabilistic by convenience. The sample consisted of 40 teachers of different specialties, who answered a questionnaire and, additionally, an interview. The results showed that the teachers showed mostly positive attitudes towards Peruvian Andean Spanish in the cognitive (73.25%), affective (75.24%) and behavioral (72.5%) components, although some negative or neutral attitudes persist, particularly among young teachers and teachers of certain specialties. It is concluded that the predominant attitudes of teachers are positive. © Los autores.
