Resumen
In the era of globalization and the digital revolution, higher education is at a turning point where it is imperative to reconsider its methods and approaches to meet the emerging needs of society and the labor market. The aim of this study was to examine the prospects and challenges facing university learning in this changing context. Using a qualitative methodology and an explanatory design, the complexities of higher education were delved into, employing a systematic review to integrate the findings of previous research. A comprehensive search of academic databases allowed the selection of relevant studies. Learning theories such as constructivism and cognitivism were examined, highlighting innovative methodologies such as Problem-Based Learning and blended and digital learning. The results highlight an evolution towards a student-centered educational model that promotes active learning and adapts to technological advances and the demands of a globalized society. In conclusion, the adaptation of university education to student-centered and active learning approaches reflects a commitment to the development of critical skills and self-directed learning, offering an integrative pedagogical framework to meet current educational challenges. © (2024), (Universidad del Zulia).
