Resumen
Half of the world's people are women. This chapter explores the reasons for why women's health requires specific consideration. Women live longer than men, but arguably suffer more. Women are an essential part of the informal and formal health care systems. Woman-centred care is thus an important theme in the project of seeking to define and deliver person-centred care. Maternity care is a significant aspect of heath care, fundamentally related to women's health. We examine the concept of safe maternity care as an example of the promise of this approach. Finally, we describe some obstacles to the implementation of person centered women's health and suggest how these may be overcome. © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2023. All rights reserved.
