Resumen

The objective was to analyze the perception of Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) in bisexual people of an LGTBI group in metropolitan Lima. The research is qualitative with a reflexive thematic analysis design. Eleven semi-structured interviews were applied to bisexual people. The results showed that VIP is mainly expressed through the minimization of sexual identity and forced outing. Likewise, there is the presence of heteronormativity in the group, which includes the invisibilization of the expression of sexuality, the similarities and differences in relation to heterosexual couples, as well as stereotypes from and towards bisexual people. On the other hand, as causal factors, we found patterns of violence learned in society, difficulties in establishing communication and limits in couples, as well as the dynamics between victim and abuser. Finally, psychological consequences such as self-devaluation, insecurity, fear, as well as the negative perception of LGTBI intimate relationships were found. In conclusion, the perception of VIP in bisexual people is presented through the minimization of sexual identity, forced outing, heteronormativity within the group, as well as causal and consequential elements.
