Resumen
The main purpose of this study is to explore the perception and relevance of ICTs (Information and Communication Technologies) in student learning at the Corporación Universitaria Americana, Medellín campus (Colombia). The methodology has a mixed design that includes an adapted questionnaire after conducting a literature review. The questionnaire is applied to 2338 students selected through stratified sampling. The variables explored include the use of technological tools and training in virtual platforms. The results show that the quantity and diversity of used ICTs varies between academic and everyday contexts. The favourable perception of ICTs as learning facilitators is related to prior knowledge. Despite low training in virtual platforms, students maintain positive attitudes. It is highlighted the importance of adapting virtual pedagogical models to evolving education needs. It is concluded that it is necessary to integrate ICTs into teaching, to improve teacher training, and to personalize educational approaches. © (2024), (Centro de Informacion Tecnologica).
