Resumen
The study examines the perception of Peruvian consumers regarding the relationship between price and quality of imported goods offered in the commercial sector of a developing nation like Peru. Using a mixed-methods approach, quantitative data was collected from 337 consumers and qualitative data from 40 buyers to better understand this phenomenon. The results show a moderate positive correlation between price and quality, supported by statistical tests such as the Spearman's Rho coefficient and multiple regression analysis. It is highlighted that Peruvian consumers' perception of price is influenced by aspects such as durability, reliability, and product resistance. Additionally, it was found that quality perception is influenced by price setting, price and value perception, price and demand, and price elasticity. The qualitative analysis reveals the importance of emotional, valuation, status, and design factors in consumer perception. In conclusion, these findings provide a comprehensive understanding of how users perceive the price-quality relationship of foreign goods in Peru, emphasizing the importance of considering emotional and valuation aspects in the distribution strategy of these products.
