PERCEPTION AND SATISFACTION WITH A GAMIFIED HEALTHCARE SIMULATION ACTIVITY AMONG PERUVIAN MEDICAL STUDENTS

Prialé-Zevallos Á.; Dubreuil-Wakeham S.; Samaniego-Lara D.; Velásquez-Rimachi V. · Revista de la Facultad de Medicina Humana (2026) · DOI: 10.25176/rfmh.v26i1.6811

Resumen

A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted in Lima, Peru, to describe the perception and satisfaction of medical students who participated in SimGames. A total of 26 out of 32 undergraduate students participated in a gamified simulation tournament involving standardized clinical cases, Body Interact, and high-fidelity mannequins. An anonymous online perception survey was administered, adapted from the High-Fidelity Clinical Simulation Satisfaction Scale, assessing infrastructure and equipment, user support, organization and logistics, simulation experience, and overall satisfaction. Women accounted for 57.7% of participants. Favorable responses predominated, and students highlighted the quality of the infrastructure and teaching support. The usefulness of simulation for assessing the patient's clinical condition reached 84.6% in the "strongly agree" category, and overall satisfaction reached 80.8%. Thus, SimGames showed a positive perception and high student satisfaction. Article published by the Revista de la Facultad de Medicina Humana of Universidad Ricardo Palma.
