Perception about educational distraction and factors of academic performance in students of Ethics in Psychology of the professional Psychology career

Resumen

The objective of this research is to describe the way in which educational distraction and the factors of performance are perceived in learning of the students of the Ethics in Psychology course of the Psychology professional career at a private university in Arequipa during the summer period 2021. The research develops a qualitative approach, a descriptive scope and the phenomenological design. The population consisted of 20 students of the Psychology career. The type of sample was non-probabilistic for convenience, therefore, it was determined to work with 17 students, to whom a semi-structured interview was applied. The results revealed that educational distractors are significantly present during and after study hours. Family interaction, the emotional stability of the student, the teacher's methodology and the use of technological resources play a fundamental role in student learning. The situation that affects the country has caused family problems, emotional instability and little adaptation of the teacher's didactics to this virtual modality, which is not correctly using the various existing technological resources, which generates a lack of attention in the student and originates the educational distractors, which avoid their learning from being meaningful. Regarding the different performance factors such as personal, social, institutional and socioeconomic, they perceive a significant influence of their personality and motivation that encourages them to meet their goals and to be able to achieve their objectives that, despite the excess of activities product of their training, they concretize their achievements.
