Resumen

The goal of the research was to examine the relationship between instructional procedures and the level of comprehension of English texts in secondary school pupils of an educational institution in the region of Tacna, Peru. For this objective, a correlational, non-experimental methodology was used to conduct a study of fundamentals. The sample consisted of 60 students, selected by a non-probabilistic non-intentional exam, to whom the educational processes questionnaire was administered and from whom access was gained to their grade records via the survey and documentary techniques, respectively. In addition, the Spearman’s Rho hypothesis test was conducted, yielding a significance level of 0.004. Therefore, it was determined that there is a substantial correlation between the variables of the study. Accordingly, the value of the educational process in the teaching of the English language as it pertains to the ability to read different forms of written texts in English is evaluated in accordance with the national curriculum.
