Pandemic: Teaching chemistry applied to Engineering?

Cano M.F.C. · Proceedings - 7th International Symposium on Accreditation of Engineering and Computing Education, ICACIT 2021 (2021) · DOI: 10.1109/icacit53544.2021.9612448

Resumen

Chemistry is a compulsory course for any Engineering degree. However, teaching chemistry applied to Industrial and Systems Engineering requires activating the student's motivation and involving them in their learning. To achieve this, our university has been using Problem Based Learning (PBL) for some years now, with the active and permanent participation of the student. The following article is a journey through the decisions taken and the results achieved, when the coronavirus pandemic forced everyone to adapt to virtual learning. Results of the last three semesters are encouraging, and its analysis allows us to deduce some factors that make it possible to consider it as such.
