Resumen
Systemic lupus erythematous (SLE) is an autoimmune disease that affects multiple organs including the eyes. Lupus choroidopathy (LC) is a rare ocular manifestation of SLE that carries important visual repercussions if not treated on time. We present the case of a 41-year-old patient that developed LC because of tapering corticosteroid therapy. LC was studied with fluorescein angiography and optical coherence tomography (OCT). All abnormalities subsided with high doses of prednisone but recurred in two occasions despite controlling the underlying disease. We emphasize the clinical features of LC to allow early recognition using OCT for diagnosis and follow-up.
