Resumen
Anemia has a negative and significant impact on children’s health in Peru. The objective of this study was to analyze the results of the program “Promotion of consumption of indigenous vegetable products in children of Non-School Early Education Institutions (PRONOEI) of the La Libertad Region 2023” as a strategy against anemia. We had the participation of 260 children between 2 and 6 years of age from 20 PRONOEI, and after 24 weeks of applying the program we evaluated the level of hemoglobin, body mass index, weight and height. The results showed mathematical improvements in each of the indicators; the most significant and associated with counteracting anemia was the hemoglobin level, which increased by an average of 0.4 in most of the age groups.
